Music and Chemistry: A Dutch concert in Prague

On May 5th 2011, a large concert in the Bethlehem Chapel will be given by students from Delft, The Netherlands.

With a group of more than one hundred musicians, students of Delft University of Technology have come all the way to Prague. The choir and symphonic orchestra, together named Krashna Musika will give a concert which part of a grand tour featuring concerts in Germany, Czech Republic and the Netherlands. The theme Music and Chemistry comes directly from joining the International Year of Chemistry, 2011.

The programme contains orchestral pieces from the Czech composers Martinů and Janáček as well as a cantata of Mozart, who loved the city of Prague very dearly.

Special guests for the concerts are the rector of Czech Technical University, Václav Havlíček and the vocal soloists from the Prague Conservatory: Markéta Mátlová (Soprano), Eliška Gattringerová (Soprano) and Ján Kostelanský (Tenor). The conductors are Chris Pouw (choir) and Daan Admiraal (orchestra).
